Information Pack

Welcome to Cubs!

Key Information

Cub Scouts is the second section in the Scout Movement for 8 to 10.5 year olds.

As a Cub, your child will join their Pack in exploring the outdoors, delving into creative crafts, discovering their community, playing games and making friends.

After a few weeks of attending Cub Scouts, your child will be ‘invested’. This is when they promise to do their best, do their duty to the Queen and help others.

Where Do We Meet?

We usually meet at St James' Church Hall in Tile Hill, Occasionally we meet in other locations that are shown on our facebook group, our website & by letter.

How Much Does it Cost?

We currently charge £3.00 per beaver per night. This covers their insurance and pays for activitties. Occasionally we may ask for a contribution towards an evening if we are running a workshop etc.

Camps usually cost around £30 but depending on the type of camp this can vary. Camps are not compulsary and payment plans can be put in place if needed.

Online Scout Manager

We use Online Scout Manager to look after all of your child's records, from their disabilities, allergies and medical details all the way through to their badge records.

Please ask a leader for more information on how you can view your child's details on OSM.

Contacts

Please remember that all of our leadership team are volunteers and may have other commitments.
Where you can, please try to email or text rather than call unless urgent.

Depending on your query, there are a few routes for making contact in the group:

Your first point of contact is your child's leader. Your child's leaders contact details can be found on our section page.

The section leader is supported by his/her section assistants who you can also approach.

If you have a query you need to escalate or is related to the group rather than just Cubs then you can contact our Group Scout Leader, Jordan Tooth, details for Jordan can be found here.

Concerns above group level should go to our district commissioner, Rosemarie Evans. Details for Rosemarie can be found on the Coventry Scout County Website.
